Story of a Rineyville KY Real Estate Closing
We had a closing scheduled for Thursday and the closing documents did not make it to the lender from the underwriter in time. The buyers had the moving company scheduled to arrive Friday so they couldn’t close because they needed to be at the new home. We decided to close at the property, Friday at 10am, while the movers were unloading. Thankfully, when we arrived, the movers already had the dining room table set up, with the seller’s permission, so we had a closing table. Well, things happen and the closer from the title company was late. We reviewed the revised Closing Statement (HUD) at the table and someone noticed the seller’s amounts were incorrect. The closer reviewed the mistake and said, “I guess I will see you tomorrow”. We decided that it would be best to finish signing all of the other documents right then. We had the closer call the title company to correct the Closing Statement then have him email it to us. I rushed back to my real estate office to print it. I arrived as the parties were finishing signing. Conflict avoided! Hey, you never know what will happen during a real estate deal.
